Tobi Kretschmer begun his dance career in Germany at just eight years old. His diverse training includes the competitive styles, International Latin & Standard, American Smooth & Rhythm as well as social dances like Hustle and Salsa.
Tobi holds many regional and statewide tiles in Germany, including the German 10 Dance Youth Championship. His more recent awards include Rising Star Champion at the New Jersey State Open and finalist at the Commonwealth Classic, both in 2010.
In addition to his own professional success, teaching others the art of movement has become Tobi’s life passion, from teaching his students the basics to preparing those who wish to compete in Pro/Am competitions throughout the United States. Tobi has additionally taught and choreographed for over 250 wedding couples preparing for their first dance.
Tobi is also guest teacher at the New Jersey Academy of the Performing Arts and PACE University and is on his third year as a professional volunteer for the “Friends of Fresh and Green” Dancing with the Stews annual charity event, at which he won first place in 2014 for his combination of artistry and fundraising. In 2013 Tobi began to direct and produce his own Pro/Am dance showcases, which occur in NYC twice annually.
